Can I use a vacuum cleaner to clean the window PE sunshade?

You can use a vacuum cleaner to clean the window PE sunshade, but extra caution is required as improper operation can easily cause damage. The specific precautions are as follows:

1. The lowest suction gear must be used:
Excessive suction of the vacuum cleaner is the main risk. Be sure to set it to the minimum setting (preferably in soft modes such as "fabric" or "curtains"), test in an inconspicuous corner first, and confirm that the curtain surface will not be lifted or deformed before continuing.

2. Be sure to use a dedicated soft bristle brush suction head:
It is absolutely forbidden to directly contact the curtain surface with the hard tube or gap suction head of a regular vacuum cleaner, as it is prone to scratching or tearing.
It is necessary to install a matching soft bristle brush suction head (commonly used for wide mouthed brush heads for cleaning sofas and fabric curtains). Soft fur can cushion suction and reduce direct friction.

3. Keep the suction head suspended and avoid pressing tightly:
Let the soft bristle brush head gently suspend on the surface of the curtain, and use the brush's gentle brushing to pick up dust.
Do not apply too much pressure to the suction head, otherwise the bristles will scratch the surface of the PE, and a concentrated strong suction force may break or cause local deformation.

4. One way gentle movement, strictly prohibit back and forth friction:
Slowly and gently move the suction head along the texture of the curtain or in a fixed direction (such as from top to bottom).
Do not repeatedly push and pull the suction head back and forth like wiping a table, as it can easily cause the material to become fuzzy or pulled.

5. Pay special attention to holes and edges:
If it is a perforated curtain, the suction head should completely avoid the hole area, and any slight carelessness may cause the hole to be deformed or torn by suction.
The edges and seams are very fragile, so the suction head should be kept away to avoid being sucked in and causing detachment or tearing.

6. Only applicable to dry floating dust:
Vacuum cleaners are only suitable for removing dry floating dust and fluff on the surface.
It is completely ineffective for wet stains, oil stains, and adhesives. Forcefully sucking will only enlarge the stains or press the dirt more firmly.

7. Before cleaning, be sure to check the condition of the curtain:
If slight fuzzing, scratches, or signs of aging and brittleness are found on the curtain surface, it is not recommended to use a vacuum cleaner at risk, as slight suction may exacerbate damage.

Cleaning Method Recommended? Key Precautions Alternative
Brush Cleaning Not advised • Avoid hard/stiff brushes • Scratches PE surface permanently • Spreads sticky stains Use soft cloth/sponge with mild soap
Vacuum Cleaning With caution  LOWEST suction setting only  Must use soft brush attachment • Float nozzle above surface • Avoid edges & holes • One-direction gentle strokes Remove blinds → Rinse with water
Water Wash Best method • Take down blinds • Rinse with cool/lukewarm water • Use hands or soft cloth gently • Air dry away from direct sun
